Notesbrowser 1.8.6 is released!

We are proud to release a new Notesbrowser!


 

New features in Notesbrowser 1.8.6:

- copy/paste of categories is now possible
- copy/paste of pages (Feature of the Professional Version)
- fast rename of categories and pages with the key F2 (no rename dialog!)
- right click on categories: "Open folder here": Opens the explorer with the file selected
- better skin support for big screen resolutions
- new selection "60 minutes" for Mp3Timer plugin
- new version of Mp3Timer plugin
- new plugin DoNext, supported as a plugin
- compiled with new development environment

New keys:
- CTRL + SHIFT + C = Copy page (only Pro Version)
- CTRL + E = Insert new page
- CTRL + F8 = open registration dialog

Changed keys:
- F2 = rename
- CTRL + F2 = switch on/off menu bar

Bugs removed:
- dates don't pop up while a search runs and disturb the search
- bug in print preview removed: Sometimes fields that were nearly empty where not shown in the print preview. Also some titles were not shown correctly when fields were empty.
- in rare cases it was not possible to open the scheduler at all
- bug removed: right click on the date preview field and selecting 'delete date'
- sometimes, at first start of Notesbrowser, there was a wrong alert that another Notesbrowser database was found on the computer when there was none
- GIFs with transparency corrected (in the scheduler)
- bug removed: in rare cases the key combination Alt + Right arrow jumped over a page
- many small bugs removed

New users can download the Zip archive, unzip it
and it will just work.

Updaters from an old Notesbrowser please do:

1) Make a backup of the full Notesbrowser folder (just in case)
2) Unzip the Zip archive
3) Copy the content of the archive in your Notesbrowser folder -
    be sure the old nb.exe is replaced by the new one
4) Start Notesbrowser by clicking on the file "nb.exe"

Notesbrowser 1.8 is released!

We are proud to release the new Notesbrowser 1.8.


 

New features of Notesbrowser 1.8:

Graphically and functionally enhanced reminder:
The reminder looks now better and dates and priorities are highlighted with small graphics.
Also the column headers are now resized automatically to the full available size:

New Date/Modify Date dialog has been re-designed:


There is a "New date" entry in the icon right click and the border right click menu


Repetition dates for X days/weeks/months can be inserted now

A running search can be aborted with ESC or a new small icon next to the progress bar:

A new MP3 Timer 2.3:
The MP3-Timer is improved.

New Skin "Lime" for the Professional Version
The Professional version of Notesbrowser has a new skin (lime):

Vista Aero Support:
This version now supports Flip3D and other Aero Features:


Also the Vista taskbar preview:


This will be supported if Notesbrowser is run in the taskbar - if it is run as icon in the system tray these features are not supported. That is not an bug, Vista is designed this way!

Unlimited Fields supported on every Page (only pro version):

Unlimited Fields supported on every Page (only Pro Version). In reality, only 8 by 8 Fields are supported (64 Fields), because there is no more space (Fields can not be sized below a minimum size)

50 instead of 6 Notesbrowser Pages available (only Pro Version):

With 50 Pages you have now much more place for your notes. Theoretical you have in every category 3200 fields for notes.

Re-designed info page (in the configurations):


New features in Notesbrowser:
- some language adaptions
- better print preview (Headlines are looking better, text in preview is word warped)
- uncritical bug resolved: "Insert field" places a field atop of another
- New key combination: CTRL+Shift + Arrow keys (up/down)
moves Categories, left/right moves pages
- Move Categories has been improved internally to remove a bug where only the caption of two categories was exchanged and not the content. The bug appeared on XP or Vista with limited user rights, for example the guest account
- import bug from NB 1.6 "Load Error: End of file not found" resolved
- graphical error removed if you turn off Title bar

Attention:
If you use 1.8 with your Notesbrowser database, the files are updated and can not be downgraded for use with 1.7 or earlier versions again! The reason is, that 1.8 introduces more fields and pages that can not be read by the previous versions and will be lost if present.
